![]() ![]() SYX SysEx file, compatible with the SY and TG77, a SoundQuest Bank, and an Excel file with the patch names for easy import and control from your DAW. So in terms of sound character, I have the feeling that the TG77 just cant replace a first/second generation FM synth. Targeted for the electronic keyboardist, this bank is full of comps, leads, brass, pads, and basses. These patches originated as the SoundEngine DX7 banks, which have been regarded far and wide as a group of the best commercial DX7 patches available.Īdding programming for the SY77's low-pass filter, new variations of the patches using the new FM algorithms only available in the SY77, and just a "touch" of effects - these sounds really come alive. Plus, I've always wanted to be able to play classic 6-OP DX7 sounds (like that iconic BASS 1 preset) and the SY77/SY99 can easily load these patches. Creating sounds using the FM engine even more powerful than that of the DX7, then having the tools of a fat, digital filter and and dual effects processor really get the creative juices flowing. I like the analog/digital character of the D-50 and from what I've read, the SY77/SY99 has a similar character, plus better effects, more patches and a powerful sequencer. We've recently picked up an SY77 and are highly impressed with its FM capabilities. I’ve been a long time fan of MidiDesigner for the ipad which is an app that allows you to create layouts or custom editors to help with creating patches for popular keyboards. ![]() Lately I’ve been working with my old Yamaha TX816, TX802, and DX-7 synthesizers from the early 1980’s. ![]() A bank of keyboard sounds - for electronic artists.
